// SALVATION

(Romans 3:23 // Romans 10:9-10 // Ephesians 2:8-9)

Salvation is all about relationship. God, in His great love for us, made a way possible for us to restore relationship and find purpose and power for our lives.

The relationship with God was severed by sin that entered the world long ago but is just as powerful and prevalent today. A Holy and perfect God cannot be near the sin that covers us. As a result, a powerful love relationship between us and the Creator is broken. But that’s not the whole story.

Jesus Christ is the Savior. That’s His job description. Save people.

When someone decides to receive the gift of salvation by faith, the Bible promises that they become a “New Creation!”
(II Corinthians 5:7) The sin that once covered us is replaced by the sacrifice of Jesus which pays the debt of our sin. How amazing!

Note this – going to church all your life doesn’t make you a Christian in the same way spending a lot of time with someone doesn’t make you married. At some point you must decide to enter the relationship with God. You make this decision by faith – by believing God sent Jesus to pay for your sins therefore restoring our relationship with God.
If you’re ready to make that decision today – you can pray a simple, yet powerful prayer like this:

Heavenly Father. Thank you for your amazing love and redeeming grace. I recognize that my sins have blocked our relationship. Today, by faith, I receive the gift of salvation purchased for me by Jesus’ death on the cross. I will live in the power that raised Jesus from the grave. Thank you for this forever gift. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
